Particle Therapy Education Opportunities

The best place to learn about particle therapy

Visits to practising centres and to specialist conferences on particle therapy will enable clinical oncologists and other scientists working in radiotherapy in the UK to have a more informed view of this treatment modality. That is a view held by the eminent Clinical Oncologist, Professor Bleddyn Jones - see what he says by going to our News page.

More and more patients and their oncologists are requesting information about the use of particles in therapy. Whilst there is a proton therapy facility in Clatterbridge in the North West of the UK capable of ocular treatment, there are no facilities in the UK yet for the wider therapeutic use of protons, neutrons or carbon ions.

Until that situation changes, this missing part of essential education can, to some extent, be met by familiaristaion visits and conference attendance. There are limited funds available to support this activity. Young scientists across the spectrum of those interested in the use of particles in the treatment of cancer are invited to use the Contact Us facility on this site to find out more.
